# Integrations

This documentation will walk you through the steps to connect various integrations available on MonSpark, including Email, Zapier, SMS, Call, Discord, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. Each integration enhances the monitoring capabilities of MonSpark by providing notifications and alerts through your preferred communication channels.

## Accessing the Integrations Page

1. **Log In to MonSpark**: Start by logging into your MonSpark account.
2. **Navigate to Notification Settings**: On the left-hand menu, select "Notification Settings".
3. **Select Integrations Tab**: Click on the "Integrations" tab at the top of the page.

## Email Integration

To connect your email address to MonSpark:

1. **Select Email Integration**: Click on the "Add" button next to the Email option.
2. **Provide Email Address**: Enter the email address you want to connect in the provided field.
3. **Receive Confirmation Code**: MonSpark will send a confirmation code to the provided email address.
4. **Enter Confirmation Code**: Check your email for the confirmation code, then enter it.
5. **Complete Connection**: If the code is correct, your email address will be successfully connected to MonSpark.

## Zapier Integration

To connect Zapier with MonSpark:

1. **Select Zapier Integration**: Click on the "Add" button next to the Zapier option.
2. **Retrieve Webhook URL from Zapier**:
   * Go to the [Zapier website](https://zapier.com/).
   * Start creating a new Zap.
   * Choose the Webhook as the trigger.
   * Choose "Catch Hook" and continue to get your webhook URL.
3. **Input Webhook URL in MonSpark**: Enter the webhook URL provided by Zapier.
4. **Connect**: Click the "Connect" button to complete the integration.

## Webhook Integration

1. **Select Zapier(Webhook) Integration**: Click on the "Add" button next to the Zapier option in MonSpark.
2. **Create Webhook URL in Target Service**:
   * Go to the service you want to connect with MonSpark (e.g., Zapier, custom server).
   * Create a new webhook in the target service and obtain the webhook URL.
3. **Input Webhook URL in MonSpark**: Enter the webhook URL provided by the target service into the MonSpark Webhook integration form.
4. **Connect**: Click the "Connect" button to complete the integration.

To connect your phone number for SMS notifications:

1. **Select SMS Integration**: Click on the "Add" button next to the SMS option.
2. **Provide Phone Number**: Enter the phone number you want to connect in the provided field.

## Discord Integration

1. **Edit Channel**: Select the text channel where you want to set up the notifications. Click on the settings icon (gear icon) next to the channel name to edit the channel.
2. **Go to Integrations**: In the channel settings, navigate to the "Integrations" tab on the left sidebar.
3. **Create Webhook**: Under the "Integrations" tab, click on the "Create Webhook" button.
4. **Configure Webhook**: Name your webhook (e.g., "MonSpark Alerts"). Select the channel where you want the notifications to be sent. Copy the webhook URL provided by Discord.
5. **Copy Webhook URL**: Click on the "Copy Webhook URL" button to copy the URL to your clipboard.
6. **Connect Webhook to MonSpark**: Go back to MonSpark and open the Discord integration form. Paste the webhook URL into the provided field in MonSpark. Click the "Connect" button to complete the integration.

## Slack Integration

1. **Navigate to Slack**: Open your Slack workspace.
2. **Manage Apps**: Click on your workspace name to open the menu. Go to "Settings & administration" and select "Manage apps".
3. **Search for Webhooks**: In the Slack App Directory, use the search bar to look for "webhook". Select "Incoming WebHooks" from the search results.
4. **Add Incoming WebHooks**: Click on "Add to Slack" to start the integration process.
5. **Set Up Incoming WebHook**: Choose a channel where the webhook will post messages. Click "Add Incoming WebHooks integration".
6. **Copy Webhook URL**: After setting up, a webhook URL will be provided. Copy this URL.
7. **Connect Webhook to MonSpark**: Go back to MonSpark and open the Slack integration form. Paste the webhook URL into the provided field in MonSpark. Click the "Connect" button to complete the integration.

## Microsoft Teams Integration

1. **Navigate to Teams**: Open your Microsoft Teams application and go to the team where you want to receive MonSpark notifications.
2. **Manage Channel**: Click on the three dots next to the channel name. Select "Connectors" from the dropdown menu.
3. **Configure Incoming Webhook**: In the Connectors window, find "Incoming Webhook" and click "Configure".
4. **Set Up Incoming Webhook**: Enter a name for the webhook (e.g., "MonSpark Alerts"). Optionally, upload an image for the webhook. Click "Create".
5. **Copy Webhook URL**: After creating the webhook, a URL will be provided. Copy this URL.
6. **Connect Webhook to MonSpark**: Go back to MonSpark and open the Microsoft Teams integration form. Paste the webhook URL into the provided field in MonSpark. Click the "Connect" button to complete the integration.<br>


# Escalation Policies

### Trigger Events&#x20;

This option determines the events upon which an incident starts.

#### If a monitor goes down

Indicates that a new incident will start when a monitor goes down.

#### If a monitor's SSL certificate will expire

Indicates that a new incident will start when an SSL Certificate's expiry date is close.

#### If a server monitor's rule triggers

Indicates that a new incident will start when a server monitor's rule is triggered.

#### If a cron job's rule triggers

Indicates that a new incident will start when a cron job's rule is triggered.

### Steps

Configuration of what will happen during the lifespan of an incident.

#### Starting point

The icon below indicates the starting point of an incident. It will be used as a reference and build the steps starting from here.

#### Seconds

Configuration of when the first step will be executed. The default value is 0, meaning the first step will run as soon as the incident starts.

#### Severity

You could set the incident step's severity when it reaches this step.&#x20;

#### Integrations

Determines which channels you prefer to be notified when the incident reaches this step.

#### Ignore Acknowledged

Enabling this option allows you to bypass this behavior and run the step even if the incident is acknowledged.

Indicates the severity of the incident. In this way, you will take action accordingly.

**Acknowledgment**

You can easily acknowledge the incident. Furthermore, you can create a rule for an incident to bypass acknowledgments.&#x20;

Keep in mind that acknowledging the incident will stop further escalations to the next steps if they are not configured to bypass acknowledgment. You can also unacknowledge the incident, which will reactive the escalation to the next steps.

* **Incident Started:** Documents the exact time when the incident was first identified.
* **Step:** Documents the actions taken in accordance with the configuration of the Escalation Policy.

Create bulk monitors for your desired URL or URLs to save time. You can easily configure each monitor type according to your needs during bulk creation.

* Choose bulk create mode.

* If desired, you can disable auto-naming which will set the URL as the monitor name.

* Add tags if categorizing is needed.
* Choose the check location.

Vertical bars present a brief history of your monitor's performance.

If the bar is a mix of red and green, downtime is detected and you can hover over to view the details of the downtime. If the bar is red, a complete downtime has occurred. You can hover over to see the details like the total up/down duration and the uptime percentage.

Next to vertical bars, you'll see 5 different information boxes. The first one is SSL box. You can quickly check on your SSL expiry date and your website's SSL certificate validity.
